PRAY FOR YOUR CITY

I’m sure you should’t start a blog with a negative.  However, I want to confess something.  I lived & served in two cities in Central Arkansas for 7 years.  The towns/cities were Benton & Bryant.  Thinking back, I can’t remember praying for these two towns in the 7 years I called it my home.  I prayed for many things.  I prayed for my church, the students I pastored, the leaders around me, my family and more.  Yet I never specifically prayed for my city. MONTH OF PRAYER

September is going to be a big month for our church!  It is going to be a big month because of one discipline, one reality, one truth… PRAYER We are making this a Month of Prayer for Olympia City Church. I think this is exactly what we need.  Exactly what our church needs.  Exactly what our city needs.  Exactly what our families need.  Together let us go bolding to the throne of God, knowing that although we are sinners, our great intercessor Jesus has made it possible for us to approach God through his sacrifice. River Fest

This Sunday, August 16th we are getting the church together at Deschutes River.  We really like hanging out and the river makes it that much better.  We will be grilling food so come ready to eat.  Just remember to bring a lawn chair or two & a side dish if you like. HOPE // SUNDAY PREVIEW

OCC Family, I am excited about Sunday’s upcoming worship service for so many reasons!  First, because we are going to be meeting in a new venue for our gathering at 1835 Cooper Point Rd SW in Olympia. Secondly, I’m excited about this Sunday because we will be commissioning the Slonekers to begin their CityGroup in the Hawks Prairie area.  They have been a faithful and awesome couple to our church.  They bring a lot of passion, excitement, and energy to our church family and I’m excited to see what God is going to do through their CityGroup.  This is another great milestone for our church family. For the City 5K // BackYard CityClubs

OCC Family, I hope you all have been enjoying your summer!  Our family had a great start to the summer.  We were on what felt like a bit of a tour, catching planes from here to there.  Thanks for your prayers throughout our trip.  It is really nice to be back home.
