HOPE IN DISCIPLING CHILDREN

OCC Family, Sunday was incredible!  I had such a blast looking at discipling children with you.  I hope you walked away challenged and full of hope.  I pray this week you’ve pushed to create a gospel-centered focus in your home.  I pray you’ve been more present with your family. It was so moving to see 3 folks from our OCC family openly declare faith in Jesus through baptism.  As they entered the waters I hope you were reminded of Christ’s death.  As they came out of the water I hope you were reminded of the completed work of Christ. Thank you so much to everyone who had a hand in set up, child care and tear down.  We could not pull…

SUNDAY PREVIEW

OCC family, It is so hard to believe we are almost 4 months into 2015.  It seems just like yesterday we were sitting at round tables at the Olympia Center sharing our desire for 2015. I’m not sure I have been more excited for a sermon series than I am right now.  This Sunday we will be kicking off a 3 part series we are calling THE HOME + THE GOSPEL. WORSHIP GATHERING RECAP

Our Easter Celebration was excellent! There were a few things that stood out for me.  First, the artwork that was displayed was incredible.  Our very own Brandon Fryxell creatively depicted for us the cross and tomb.  At our next gathering we will be displaying his depiction of the resurrection.  You don’t want to miss seeing all three displayed.  Second, taking communion together was not just needed but perfect.  Obeying Jesus in observing communion, helps keep our eyes focused on the completed work of Jesus who defeated sin, death and the grave. As you walk through this week I hope you will be reminded of the rugged rescuing love of God through Jesus.  I had such a great time looking at…

CELEBRATION

Dear Olympia City Church, I hope this has been an incredible week for you.  I am very excited, to say the least, about our gathering this Sunday.  Like our other gatherings it will be a celebration.  It will be a celebration of what God has been doing in our church as we have been scattered and gathered in CITYgroups.  But much more it is a celebration of the resurrection of our great Savior. You see, Easter is not just a cool Spring holiday.  Easter Sunday, the resurrection of Jesus, is the apex of our belief as Christ followers.  Sunday, we will get to celebrate together the work of Jesus.  We will get to reflect on God’s great love for us in sending his son…
