Jesus is our king

We believe that Jesus is God, and therefore, He rules our lives better than we ever could. We surrender to His reign not out of obligation, but out of love and trust.

This might seem like an odd claim in our independent-minded world. But consider how God prepared for this through history.

After humanity’s rebellion against God, He chose a nation, Israel, to reveal Himself to the world. When the people of Israel asked for a king to rule them, God gave them one. But as king after king sat on the throne, the same pattern repeated: each one fell short. They promised lasting peace and prosperity but delivered conflict and instability. They claimed to be strong and wise, yet they stumbled and failed. Israel kept searching for a king who could truly deliver.

Then came Jesus of Nazareth.

Unlike the kings before Him, Jesus fought for His people, for Israel and for all of us, in an unexpected way. Rather than conquering with armies or earthly power, King Jesus gave His life on a cross. He was buried and rose again on the third day. In His obedience to the Father and through the power of the Holy Spirit, He conquered sin and death with sacrificial love. He won the ultimate victory, not through the sword, but through surrender.

This is what true kingship looks like. This is why we bow our lives to King Jesus.
