we are to serve

We are created not just to believe, but to serve. Our hands and feet are meant to be His hands and feet in a world that desperately needs to see Jesus’ compassion and justice.

We serve our neighborhood. We serve our city. We serve our country. We serve all nations. We do this because Scripture reveals a grand, cosmic movement happening throughout history, a movement orchestrated by God Himself to restore and redeem creation. This isn’t peripheral to God’s heart; it’s central to it. God cares deeply about justice, about mercy, about the vulnerable and the marginalized. He calls His people to reflect that same concern.

Our goal at Olympia City Church is to serve others in a way that makes King Jesus visible. When we feed the hungry, we display His compassion. When we stand for justice, we display His righteousness. When we help the vulnerable, we display His heart for the oppressed. As we become His hands and His feet in our community, we pray that people will see beyond us to see Him. We pray they will glorify King Jesus and Him alone.

This is mission. Not conquest. Not coercion. But love expressed through action, Gospel proclaimed through service, and the kingdom of God made visible through the lives of ordinary followers of Jesus who have been transformed by His grace.
