9. The World to Come
We believe in the literal second coming of Christ at the end of the age. The future and glorious return of Jesus Christ will be physical and visible. In His own time and in His own way God begin the restoration of all things. He will raise the dead from the grave and separate the righteous from the wicked. The wicked will be separated from God’s presence for eternal punishment and the righteous for endless joy with the Triune God. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Eternal Life. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.

And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us.
